It was the rythmic beats that cruised across the subwoofers of the speakers. It was the mixture of the greatest songs of that day blended so that what you heard became a new song in and of itself. He was the scratch, it was the start then the stop. It was the yell of a "Heeyyy, hooooo, heeey, hooo". It made your bob and even at at times if may have made you say, "got damn, that DJ made my day!" You knew when you heard it, it was like no other sound you ever heard before. It was yours to hold because the music and the feel spoke to the spirit of exactly who you were and are. You could call it your own. It made you dress different, think differently and gave you a subtle but easy feeling.

Well we remember those days all too well! That's why the Brown Sugar Suite is getting backs to the roots of where and how it all began, with the DJ. We are proud to present one of Hip-Hop's icons. His musical depth, skills and knowledge reaches levels only wished and dreamed of by most. He performances are epic, whether it's him in the both producing songs for the Grammy nominated group for which he is so well known and associated with or playing, backing and producing for everyone from Jay-Z to Common, Mary J to Beyonce and Janet. His list of accomplishments and contemporaries read as a who's who among hip-hop, R&B/Soul and jazz greats. He is the musical curator himself...
